Zap is built from the ground up to be privacy-first. Unlike traditional SaaS products, Zap operates entirely on-device and peer-to-peer — your data never touches our servers. We do not store, process, or analyze your personal conversations, transcripts, or intelligence data. What happens on your device stays on your device.
2. Information We Collect
Because Zap is peer-to-peer and local-first, we collect minimal information:
- Account information: Email address when you sign up for early access or a Zap account.
- Usage analytics: Anonymized, aggregated app usage data (crash reports, feature usage frequency) to improve the product. No content is ever included.
- Support communications: If you contact us, we retain that correspondence to resolve your issue.
3. What We Never Collect
- Meeting transcripts or audio recordings
- Your AI queries or responses
- Documents, files, or knowledge you add to Zap
- Peer network topology or peer identities
- Any data processed by local AI models on your device
4. How We Use Information
The limited information we collect is used solely to: maintain your account, send product updates you've opted into, improve Zap's stability and performance, and respond to support requests. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
5. Data Security
All peer-to-peer communication in Zap is end-to-end encrypted using industry-standard protocols. Local data on your device is protected by your device's built-in encryption (Apple Secure Enclave). Account data we hold is encrypted at rest and in transit.
6. Third-Party Services
Zap may integrate with optional third-party services (e.g., calendar providers) with your explicit consent. These integrations are governed by the respective third party's privacy policy. We do not share your Zap data with these services beyond what is necessary for the integration to function.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@zap.today. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Zap evolves. We will notify you of significant changes via email or prominent in-app notice. Continued use of Zap after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
